Christmas Eve

Maybe I can thank the Christmas "Kid History" episode for our kids' Nativity enthusiasm. I wasn't expecting them to be as excited as they were to dress up.
It really is great to be in Vegas with so much family really close by. We enjoyed spending a little time with the cousins reading from the scriptures and focusing on the real meaning of Christmas.

On our drive home, we took a little detour to see some Christmas lights. Back-story: while in California, we were watching a Christmas movie where a little boy is surprised to find his entire yard decorated with a crazy amount of Christmas lights. I thought it was a little too much and asked Zack if he thought there were too many lights. His reply: "There can never be too many lights." And then he started planning what he wanted to add to our already more than ever lit up house.  That night, we took a drive to "Candy Cane Lane" to see an almost entire street completely decked out with Christmas decor. It was crazy. He LOVED it. Unfortunately (?) when we came back home he was too sick to make good on the plans (whew!).

Back to our Christmas light drive, keep in mind we've seen a lot of impressive light displays, and we all agree that this one, just a little ways from our place, is the best we saw. I even took pictures:
By the front door is a little elf scene.
A present crane!
Grinch on a ski lift.
The door knob on the gingerbread house is an M&M.
Back home, we had time to decorate cookies and open pjs.

Cookies for Santa. Guess which one Zack decorated.
One last notable Christmas Eve event: Zack lost a tooth. Know what that means? Santa and the Tooth-fairy. Score.
