We were so happy that Papa and Nana came for a long visit. We had lots of things we wanted to do with them. My nephew Sam has participated in both Zion's Youth Symphony and Chorus programs this year. This video from youth.lds.org explains a little about it.
We watched him perform at the beautiful Smith Center. Before the program, Ethan and Noah got a little Uncle Ken love.
Papa took a trip to St. George and returned home with 6 loaves of bread and 3 gallons of milk (buy 2 loaves and get 1 gallon milk for free). He also brought the boys personalized Texas donuts. What a grandpa!Unfortunately, during the drive, Papa suffered a mild stroke and spent a few days in the hospital.
We were grateful he recovered and was able to go with us to the auto show. Zack's favorite car:
Zack and Henry crusin' in a Jeep.
I was surprised that Zack and Henry were a little freaked out by this robot. They liked to watch him from behind me. I barely got them to take this picture.
Emily, Dianne & I took a little trip to St. George to get salsa, bread (can never get enough bread) and to check out Tai Pan Trading. Our first stop was Costco which is near Tai Pan, except that it isn't anymore. I was happy to see a Cal Ranch because it reminds me of my dad. Then I realized that Cal Ranch was in the Tai Pan Trading building! What??? Fortunately, it didn't go out of business, just moved locations. That could have been disastrous! On the plus side, now there is something for both of my parents when they visit St. George.
The Las Vegas Speedway has a fun light show. Apparently, it has the biggest light tunnel in the world (or maybe North America). It was impressive. We all enjoyed looking at the lights. It was worth the $15 we paid, even though the other two cars who went with us got in for free.
Yes, that is Elvis.
We went before Thanksgiving (something I am usually against) but it was a great start to the holiday season.
