We have no choice but to pass through Utah on our way to Idaho. Good thing we love Utah. We planned our visit so we could go see the Real play.
Live soccer games are lots of fun especially when the other team whines and gets TWO red cards (complainers) and the Real score 4 goals right in front of your seats. Haeli has connections and was able to get the boys on the field for the parade of kings.
After: legal fireworks. Hooray, check that off Zack's list. They were spectacular even though some of the music choices were a little odd. Congratulations to Katy Perry though for singing a song that is guaranteed to be played at least once a year.
On our way home we stopped at Temple Square.
It has been awhile since we've been there. It's so pretty and peaceful. It was a welcome break after the less than harmonious drive getting there. (Maybe purchasing the entire Harry Potter series wasn't a good idea when only one kid actually likes to watch Harry Potter.) Zack picked this as his favorite flower garden.
In all the times we've been, the boys haven't ever seen the inside of the Tabernacle. I am sure I wowed them with stories of me attending General Conferences there when I was younger and the chairs were smaller and less comfortable.
After, we met up with our Harvest Hills friends. Ahh, I just love that place. I wish I could pick it up and move it to Vegas--the winters are way better here. It was great to catch up with our friends. Everyone is still as cool as ever...
To finish off our Utah visit, we invaded Chad & Angie's house for a night. Sadly we were a month too early to see a new baby. Before we got back on the road for Vegas we stopped at Jumping Jacks. This is what dads do at bouncy places:
Super fun and cool moms do stuff like this:
