Carving pumpkins is such a messy job that it is best to carve as many as possible at the same time so that you can make the biggest mess possible. Also, include paint so that it can be super duper messy.
Then (if you are one of my kids) pick a pattern that is beyond your skill level, but insist on using only that pattern, and then walk away after one cut so that Matt or I will finish for you. Good plan, now go play. We'll do all the dirty work.
Matt isn't just holding the stake, he won it!! Oh and we'll be flaunting his victory for awhile. Anyone who drives down our street will know, without a doubt, who makes the best chili.
And, in what can only be described as a quest for cook off dominance, Megan, last year's chili winner, showed up with amazing corn bread and won the broom for the most wicked corn bread. Will she ever stop? Can she be stopped? Would it be rude not to invite her next year?

Congrats to Matt on the big Chili win. You guys really do live on a pretty cool street and award winning cooks ta' boot.
Way to go Matt! Maybe we should have chili for Thanksgiving. Every time you post about stuff on your street it just gets better and better. "Wicked corn bread," so cute!
Congrats Matt! Your win was well deserved. Watch out for NEXT YEAR and hold on to your hot pads tight...heard Jerry say something about tripping you as you cross the street!!!
So, here's my question. TECHNICALLY my address is not WWW. However... I am placed in a real tough spot. Really limited on neighbors, and at the point where three streets meet. I stare at the name WWW everyday from my front porch. Since my address limits me, could I just maybe be the taste tester? Because come on, who judges? I could be the "non-partisan junction neighbor". Just a thought.
No serious, that's awesome! And I'm quite content with my grain :) I love to see all the events that give you guys reasons to have celebrations. I think you all must have plotted that neighborhood out in Heaven.
Tell your hubby congrats on his Chili!
Great job Matt!! I still can't get over how many kids are on your street! Looks like so much fun. The kids look really cute in their costumes in the posts above! Can't wait to see pics of your costume.
