Idaho

Brandon recently called me out for being a lame blogger. I have had nothing exciting to report at all. But last weekend we hit the road for Idaho and had a little bit of excitement. We left early Saturday morning and made it in time to catch Logan's wrestling match in Idaho Falls. We didn't even plan that. I learned that the way to avoid cauliflower ear (see BJ Penn, Joe Stephenson or pretty much any other UFC fighter for an example) is to wear those ear protector things. Did you hear that Logan? Wear the ear coverings or you'll never get any chicks.

We had tickets for the Rexburg Temple Open House at 11:30. When we arrived there was a line out the door going around the corner. More people came than expected and so we had to wait a long time. Apparently the tickets didn't matter. It was definitely worth the wait. The kids loved the temple. Zack especially liked the inside swimming pool.

Ben has been saving up his Book It coupons to use at the Rexburg Pizza Hut. A sit down Pizza Hut is a novelty for us since we don't have any nearby. Not any more. We tried to go after the temple and it was too busy so we went on Monday before we left for home. Our service was horrible! If it wasn't for the Book It coupons we would have walked out. As it was, Matt (my Matt) was pretty much our server getting our silverware, the kid's placemats and crayons and a to go box (an unused one from another table). This is the first time we've never given a tip, but she deserved what she got. It wasn't even busy. I think Pizza Hut actually owes Matt money for doing her job. If you want to go to a pizza place in Rexburg, go to Craigos.
Anyway, after the temple tour we ended up at Gringo's for lunch. Haylee was unfamiliar with the practice of soda refills, so she went for the double.

Matt, Scott & Brandon found 4 degrees below zero to be perfect weather to go snowmobiling. But they are crazy. It was really cold so those of us who are normal didn't leave the house very often. This led to some interesting playtime for the kids. Zack and Brigham played in the tub.

The kids decided to draw and then decided that their skills were so great that they should be paid. They set up an art store along the stairs. Two rolls of tape later, they were open for business. Fortunately they were willing to accept most forms of payment including checks. Unfortunately, their moms are not appreciators of fine art and they didn't earn the big bucks they expected.

Noah wrote a sign for the door that cracked me up. He discovered double stick tape which made a handy way to take a payment.
All that coloring did take it's toll:
This gives me a birthday gift idea for Zack. Right now, while I am typing this, my hair is being styled. When it is finished I will look like a princess. That is, if I have any hair left after all the pulling. Do they still make those head only dolls? I might be visiting the girl toys section very soon

What a fun weekend. I am jealous that David got to see you guys and I didn't. Was it Glen Beck that gave the courage to not tip? Good for you! I love the art gallery. Noah is so funny - "P.S. it sticks", too cute.

It was a lot of fun having you around despite the lines at the Temple and the lame Pizza Hut service. I should have tipped Matt if I would have been thinking. I just sent a head doll for hair to the D.I., had I of known, I would have sent it your way. There are several versions now days. Make sure you quiz him as to if he wants a Bratz, Barbie or no name head...you may have more choices than you bargained for! I am impressed by your photo skills and your blog, I didn't even realize most of this stuff occurred. Where was I? Brandon hasn't visited my blog...your's is super!

I am just getting a chance to look at blogs again and am trying to get inspired as to what to put on mine. It was fun to have you here, as always but when you stay with Lacey I miss out on quite a bit of the fun. What great times and memories your kids will have.

Okay Kliss, I don't have a way to contact you now that your blog doesn't have a place to post comments...that's why I went back a year to see if I could. Maybe you could send me your email address so I can comment on your funny posts? Let me know if you get this message.
